About Joy

Joy Bliss lives with her husband, son, two dogs, and two cats in the town of Buda, near Austin, Texas. She’s been happily settled in Texas since 2008.   Joy is a self-taught and self-represented artist.  She grew up in a large family in mostly Wisconsin and Illinois.  Her love of art was nurtured as a child when she created art on a daily basis with her siblings - especially her sisters. Art is a way of life for Joy.  Her love of nature and music flow through every painting she creates. Her art is inspired by artists like Salvador Dali [1904-1989] and Alphonse Mucha [1860-1939]. Using primarily acrylic paints for her creations, she loves to explore new techniques and mediums. She creates pieces that encourage a second take and then endless more takes to discover every detail woven into each treasured work of art!  She is always searching for new ways of expressing herself to push the boundaries of her art.

Joy Bliss creates paintings that draw you into her uniquely transformative world of color and pattern. The passion she feels for art is seen through the ethereal wonderment of her work.  Her art celebrates life and nature in a way that will inspire you to view things around you just a little differently. Her eclectic style ranges from the surreal to the serene, from the fantastical to the abstract, and is crafted with a careful eye for detail while positively bursting with vibrant colors.
